SOLIHULL Moors wrapped up their pre-season schedule with an emphatic 5-0 win against Chesterfield Ladies with five different players on the scoresheet.
Lyndsey Ross-Baker, Becky Knight, Emmalee Hornsby, Trialist A, and a thunderous strike from Charlotte Leedham helped Moors to a devastating win.
Moors took the lead on 10 minutes when Ross-Baker looped an effort over the goalkeeper from Cheyanne Jarvis’s teasing cross.
And Solihull doubled their lead just seven minutes later when Hornsby linked up brilliantly with Ross-Baker before cutting inside and having a superb effort tipped onto the crossbar with Knight quickest to react to the rebound.
The home side added their third goal on 24 minutes when Hornsby coolly slotted an effort into the bottom right corner after good play from Zoe Creaney and Demi Walker.
Solihull picked up where they left off after the break as Trialist A made it four with a composed lob over the keeper from the edge of the penalty area from Annie Highway’s pass.
Moors capped off a fine display with their fifth goal when substitute Leedham scored a stunning goal from 30-yards out that flew past the goalkeeper before she could react.
Solihull begin their FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands campaign at home to Long Eaton United Ladies on Sunday, August 21 with kick-off at 3pm.
