MANAGERLESS Solihull Moors claimed their first league win of the season with a 2-1 victory away at Boston United.
A brace from Jacob Wakeling inspired Moors to victory at the Jakemans Community Stadium.
The result lifts Moors off the bottom of the National League table and up to 21st in the standings.
Solihull sacked former boss Matt Taylor last week after the club failed to win any of their first seven matches of the 2025/26 campaign.
And with Moors yet to appoint a permanent successor to Taylor, former Solihull assistant coach James Quinn took charge of the side.
The visitors broke the deadlock on 15 minutes as Wakeling pounced on a loose pass before driving into the box and lashing a shot into the net via the underside of the crossbar.
However, Boston drew level two minutes before half time when Jordy Hiwula fired a shot into the left corner of the goal after Moors failed to deal with a cross from the left.
Moors reclaimed the lead on 78 minutes when Wakeling carried the ball into the penalty area before cutting in on his left foot and curling a shot into the bottom left corner from 15-yards out.
And the visitors held on to secure their first win of the season and first victory since a home success against the same opponents towards the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
Solihull are next in action against Morecambe on Saturday, September 13 with kick-off at 3pm at Damson Park.
