LEAFIELD Athletic Ladies surrendered a two-goal lead to suffer a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat against Swindon Town in the Women’s FA Cup.

Goals from Gemma Fraser and Evie Gallop put Leafield in command of the third round tie at Castle Vale.

However, Swindon striker Annie Colston scored a second-half hat-trick, with the winner coming in injury time, to inflict a cruel defeat on Leafield.

Leafield broke the deadlock on 13 minutes when Fraser latched onto Abi Cowie’s pass in-behind the Swindon defence and kept her cool to find the top corner when one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

And the home side doubled their lead on 34 minutes as Gallop looped a header into the net from Becky Fraser’s ball into the box.

However, Swindon halved the deficit on 54 minutes when Colston finished past Leafield goalkeeper and captain Colette Bell.

And the visitors equalised six minutes from time as Colston profited from a goalmouth scramble to score her second of the game.

Colston completed her hat-trick and a dramatic turnaround four minutes into injury time when she drove into the box and beat Bell for a third time to leave the home side stunned.
