KNOWLE take a break from league action this weekend when they entertain Central Ajax in the Les James Challenge Cup.

The Robins host their Midland Football League Division Two rivals in the quarter-final tie at the Draintech Community Stadium.

Knowle head into the clash off the back of nine straight victories and thrashed local rivals Earlswood Town 7-0 in their last outing.

The Robins beat Ajax 4-2 at home in a league meeting back in August earlier this season.

Ajax have endured a difficult campaign and sit 13th in the MFL Division Two table.

However, the visitors head into the fixture following back-to-back cup wins against Old Wulfrunians and Bustleholme.

Knowle’s joint manager, Clive Seeley, said: “We underestimate Central Ajax at our peril. They are far better than their league position would indicate.

“When they play the games they have in hand, they will be much higher up the table. Central Ajax and Coventrians are the two sides that have given us the closest games this season.”

The clubhouse at the Draintech Community Stadium will be open all afternoon for hot and cold snacks, drinks and alcohol.

Admission is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.

Knowle host Central Ajax on Saturday, February 1 with kick-off at 2pm at the Draintech Community Stadium.
