CLIVE Seeley admits Knowle did not deserve to beat Coventrians after missing a number of chances in a frustrating goalless draw.

The Robins played out their third stalemate of the season after squandering several gilt-edged opportunities to break the deadlock at Bennetts Road.

The result means Knowle sit 12 points clear at the top of the Midland Football League Division Two table, although second-placed Northfield Town have four games in-hand.

And Seeley admits his side just could not break the home side down after the interval.

Seeley said: “We played really well in the first half, they looked despondent to come off at nil-nil.

“We should have been three or four up, if you miss chances like that you probably don’t deserve to win games.

“We didn’t look as likely to score in the second half, Coventrians were very well-organised but we just couldn’t break them down.”

The Robins dominated throughout as a number of chances came and went the best of which saw the visitors fail to turn the ball home into an unguarded net from inside the six-yard box.

Knowle are next in action against Central Ajax on Saturday, March 8 with kick-off at 3pm at Ajax Park.
