KNOWLE romped to a 6-1 victory against 10-man AFC Birmingham to reach a third successive Les James Challenge Cup final.

A hat-trick from Hayden Purves, a brace from Zak Parsons and further strike from Odane Barnes saw the Robins cruise into the final at the Draintech Community Stadium.

Knowle will play either Hampton or Northfield Town in the final at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium.

The Robins have won the Les James Challenge Cup in each of the last two seasons.

Knowle broke the deadlock on 15 minutes when Parsons finished well from Purves’ through ball.

However, the visitors, who play one level below Knowle, drew level four minutes later as Mark Webster forced the ball home following a scramble in the box.

Webster went head-to-head with Knowle defender Ricardo Dudley as he wheeled away to celebrate and saw red following the clash while Dudley only received a yellow card.

Knowle reclaimed the lead on 38 minutes when Purves reacted quickest to turn home a loose ball and put the Robins ahead at the break.

And the Robins struck again moments after the interval as Parsons placed a shot into the net to leave the visitors stunned.

Knowle all but sealed their place in the final on 48 minutes when Barnes headed Owain Taylor’s drilled cross into the top corner.

And Purves tapped in a second goal to extend Knowle’s advantage before he completed his hat-trick in style.

Purves received the ball deep inside his own half before charging down the pitch as his final touch hit the keeper and looped into the air before spinning into the net.

Knowle are next in action against Northfield Town in a title-decider on Saturday, April 5 with kick-off at 3pm at Shenley Lane.
