KNOWLE moved top of the table with a scintillating 9-0 home win against bottom club Allexton and New Parks.

After the Robins took a commanding five-goal lead, Md Shimul scored four times for the home side at the Draintech Community Ground.

That came after Brady Floyd netted a brace while George Seeley, Hayden Purves and Connor Mort all found the net.

The result lifts Knowle to the top of the Midland Football League Division One table, ahead of Sutton United on goal difference with two games in hand.

Knowle broke the deadlock after just nine minutes when the ball broke kindly to Seeley who raced into the box and rounded the goalkeeper before finishing into an empty net.

And the home side doubled their lead on 18 minutes as Floyd headed a corner from the right into the top left corner despite the best efforts of the visiting goalkeeper.

The Robins struck again one minute before half time when Purves lashed a penalty high into the net to leave the goalkeeper with no chance.

And Knowle extended their lead in first-half injury time with another spot kick as Mort made no mistake from 12-yards out.

The hosts made it five on 56 minutes when Floyd finished from close range at the back post following a scramble in the box.

The rout continued three minutes later as Shimul scored his first of the game with a low finish into the bottom left corner at the goalkeeper’s near post.

Shimul struck again on 75 minutes with a powerful first time finish into the roof of the net from inside the penalty area.

The forward completed his hat-trick five minutes later when he took the ball past the goalkeeper and finished into an empty net after Allexton played their way into trouble at the back.

And Shimul completed the scoring on 84 minutes with his fourth goal – a carbon copy of his previous strike.

Knowle are next in action against Bilston Town on Wednesday, December 17 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Queen Street.
