FOOTBALL - Knowle hoping to end Kenilworth's unbeaten start

KNOWLE take on Kenilworth Sporting in a battle of the division’s two remaining unbeaten sides this weekend.

The Robins are yet to lose in the Midland Football League Division Two this season and have an identical record to that of Kenilworth.

Both teams have four wins and three draws from seven matches this term with Knowle one place below Sporting in the table, in third, by virtue of the latter scoring one more goal.

Knowle’s joint manager Matthew Seeley said: “I know Martin Ascroft, the Sporting Manager, well. We get on well. He is a good guy. We are looking forward to our visit to Gypsy Lane.

“Sporting are a well run club with excellent facilities, so what is not to like? This promises to be a good advert for Division Two of the MFL.”

Knowle drew three of their opening four games but have won each of their last three matches and saw off Alcester Town 2-0 at the weekend.

Kenilworth ended Cadbury Athletic’s long unbeaten run at the start of the season and won 3-0 at Bolehall Swifts last weekend.

The clubhouse will be open all day and has a fully licensed bar with hot and cold food available and Sky Sports TV.

Entrance is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.

Knowle face Kenilworth on Saturday, September 24 with kick-off at 3pm at Gypsy Lane.
