EARLSWOOD Town finished the season with a 6-3 defeat at Hampton after losing 7-0 newly-crowned champions Redditch Borough two days previously.

The Earls concluded an exhausting run of 12 games in the space of just 24 days with a couple of heavy defeats on the road to end the campaign on a run of six straight defeats.

And the results mean Earlswood finish the Midland Football League Division Two season in 12th place for the second campaign running.

The Earls finished level on points and goal difference with Inkberrow but pipped their Worcestershire rivals to 12th place by virtue of scoring more goals.

Against Hampton, the Earls trailed by four goals at the break but threatened a comeback courtesy of Harry Street’s double and Louis Bridges’ 15th goal of the season only for Hampton to eventually seal the points at Highgate United’s Tythe Barn Lane ground.

That came after the Earls conceded seven in defeat at champions Redditch who scored five before the break and struck twice after the interval at Cherry Tree Walk.

Joel Hughes’ side will now look to put their gruelling season behind them and start planning for the 2024/25 campaign.
