TOM Kinsey’s late equaliser earned Earlswood Town a 2-2 draw against tenants Barnt Green Spartak to stretch their unbeaten run in the league to 10 matches.
Kinsey levelled the game on 89 minutes after Dan Smith’s early goal opened the scoring with Mahmoud Abouelill and Randy Osei on target for the visitors at The Pavilions.
The result means Earlswood sit fifth in the Midland Football League Division Two table.
And the Earls were gifted the opening goal on eight minutes when an error at the back allowed Smith the opportunity to poke home into an empty net from 12-yards out.
However, Spartak were level on 16 minutes when Abouelill made his way through the Earls’ defence with ease before calmly slotting home past Tom Day.
And within seconds of the restart, Spartak took the lead after a defensive mishap allowed Osei to capitalise and turn the game in the visitor’s favour.
The Earls were dominant thereafter and went close to a leveller when captain Louis Bridges was centimetres away from prodding home Kinsey’s deflected cross at the far post.
Kinsey proved to be Earlswood’s saviour when he looped a header into the far corner to score his sixth goal of the season in the final minute of the game.
And the home side then had a chance to steal the points deep into injury time as substitute Harry Street prodded wide from six-yards out.
The Earls are next in action away at AFC Coventry Rangers on Saturday, November 5 with kick-off at 2pm at Coventry Technical Rugby Club.
