MATT Taylor believes Solihull Moors can start planning for next season after a dramatic 3-2 victory against Boston United secured his side’s place in the National League.

Moors sealed a third straight victory courtesy of James Clarke’s 97th-minute winner at Damson Park as Solihull twice came from behind to take the points.

Goals from Zak Mills and Connor Teale twice put the visitors ahead before the break with Jamey Osborne and Tahvon Campbell on target for the home side.

The result means Solihull sit 13th in the National League. Moors have now secured their place in the division next season.

And Taylor wants Moors to carry their momentum into the final few games of the campaign.

Taylor said: “It’s nice to win a game like that, especially when you’ve been so dominant for 90-plus minutes but we switched off on two set-plays.

“We didn’t dominate as much in the air and we got punished, on the balance of play, we were definitely the team worthy of three points.

“To be able to score with the last kick of the game is an amazing feeling, we have to continue to build momentum into the next game.

“The players showed immense character, the result is massive for us, it puts us in a position where we know what we can do and where we can plan for next season.

“We want to finish the season strongly and carry that momentum into next season.”

Boston broke the deadlock after just two minutes when Mills lashed home the rebound after Laurie Walker kept out Greg Sloggett’s initial volley following a long throw.

Moors equalised five minutes later as Osborne lashed a stunning volley into the top left corner from the edge of the penalty area.

However, Boston reclaimed the lead on 37 minutes when Teale finished on the turn following a high ball into the box from the left.

Solihull drew level for a second time on 72 minutes as substitute Campbell scored his first goal since August from the penalty spot after Fletcher Holman drew a foul in the box.

And Moors snatched the points at the death when Clarke rose highest at the near post to glance Szhem Whyte-Hall’s long throw from the right into the left corner of the goal.

That came after Solihull also came from behind to win 2-1 away at Tamworth on Good Friday at the Lamb Ground.

Moors fell behind to Tom McGlinchey’s strike only for goals from Conor Wilkinson and Alex Whitmore to turn the game on its head after the break.

Solihull are next in action against York City on Saturday, April 26 with kick-off at 3pm at the LNER Community Stadium.
