ANDY Whing hopes Solihull Moors can make history when they host Bromley in a highly-anticipated FA Cup second round this weekend.
Moors are aiming to reach the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.
The club suffered an agonising penalty shootout defeat against Bromley in the National League play-off final at Wembley last season.
And Whing wants his players to rise to the occasion as Moors target history. The game is live on ITV1.
Whing said: “It’s history breaking if we can get into the third round for the first time in the club’s history. We know it’s a big game.
“Hopefully one of our lads can make history for the football club which will get looked back on for years to come, it’s a big occasion for us.
“We’ve got a lot of new players who weren’t here last season [for the play-off final], that was last season, we’re a slightly different team this year.
“The FA Cup third round is a massive achievement for the football club, rather than looking back or looking for revenge, it’s a different team now.
“The preparation has been really good, we’re in a good place, it’s a game we’re really looking forward to, it’s a massive game for the football club.
“It’s an FA Cup game, form won’t come into it as much as a league game, it’s come at the right time for us, hopefully we can produce a rise to the occasion type of performance.
“The fans will play a massive part, they’ve shown up for us in big games, I’m sure they’ll step up.”
Solihull host Bromley in an FA Cup second round clash on Sunday, December 1 with kick-off at 3.15pm at Damson Park.
