CRICKET: EDGBASTON prepared for its upcoming inaugural day/night test match by hosting a County Championship day/night fixture between Warwickshire and Lancashire.
Spectators had to become accustom to sighting a pink ball as oppose to the traditional red colour for Warwickshire’s latest fixture, which started on Monday afternoon.
Lancashire were helped by former West Indies skipper Shivnarine Chanderpaul throughout the first innings as the 42-year-old left-hander hit a century as the red rose county managed to reach 273.
In reply, Warwickshire broke the 300 mark with help from opener Andrew Umeed (113), Jonathan Trott (56), and Jeetan Patel (50) as they reached 321.
Lancashire reached 178/4 by close of play on day three.
The game reaches it’s conclusion this evening with a draw looking the most likely outcome.
