Dorridge head of women’s cricket, Anisha Patel said: “It has been a great season for women and girls cricket here at Dorridge.
“It is fantastic to have two women’s sides winning their leagues and for the first XI to win a cup final.
“It shows all the hard work the players have put into training has paid off on the pitch.
“Across all our teams, both women and girls, we support each other and strive to do the best we can.
“At the same time we make sure players are enjoying their cricket. For us cricket is all year round and we don’t stop for the winter.
“We run indoor training sessions and competitions to build on our progress and momentum.
“They are also great social events and we aim to make cricket fun and enjoyable for everyone.
“If any women or girls are interested in playing cricket then come and join us by contacting the club.”
Dorridge’s secretary and safeguarding officer, Sanjay Vadher added: “Dorridge Cricket Club is really proud of the achievements of our women’s teams this season.
“Winning the 100 Ball Cup and the league titles for the first time is the reward for all the planning, hard work, training, coaching and great team performances.
“The teams thoroughly deserve their success. There is a great team spirit and squad depth, significant experience and a senior cricket pathway that is providing opportunities for our juniors to play more cricket.
“We have worked hard to establish a women and girls’ section here at Dorridge, including building a new pitch for the teams to play on.
“Thanks to Anisha and her dedicated team of coaches we have seen the teams going from strength to strength.”
