County cricket call-ups for Solihull Blossomfield female players

NO FEWER than six female Solihull Blossomfield Cricket Club players have been selected to play for Warwickshire County squads this summer as the women’s game at the popular club continues to flourish.

Three of the girls have been selected for the Under-13 squads, with the other three chosen for the Under-11 age group.

It is the third season in a row that Blossomfield has had girls selected for the county teams and club chairman, Paul Law, was delighted for their selection.

He said: “Although great credit goes to the girls for their commitment and cricketing ability, their success is due in great measure to their head coach, John Boyce.

“John has worked hard with the squads throughout the winter, concentrating on further skills development and all girls have enjoyed the coaching sessions.”

John’s achievement with the Blossomfield Girls Cricket was recently recognised by the Warwickshire County Cricket Board, when he received the runner’s-up award for Girls Coaching throughout the county.

Any girls or boys interested in coaching and/or playing cricket at the Blossomfield Club in Widney Lane, Solihull, should email [email protected].
