RUGBY UNION: PETE Glackin is determined to continue the good work both on and off the pitch at Birmingham & Solihull Rugby Club after signing a two-year extension which will keep him at Portway until the end of the 2018/19 season.
Glackin, who joined the club at the beginning of April 2016, has overseen real progress this season, not least with the Bees currently sat in fourth place in National League 3 Midlands, having lost just four out of 18 league games under his tenure.
“I am pleased to commit to such a great club for the next two years,” said Glackin. “This season to date has been a huge transition on and off the field and the support from everyone has been fantastic.
“The players have brought into what we are striving to achieve and have demonstrated great potential within the squad. It’s certainly a step by step process and we are enjoying the journey.”
Speaking about the extension, Bees chairman Dai Phillips added: “Glacks has made a massive impact in the relatively short time he has been with us.
“As an ex-Bees’ player himself, he already had a real affinity with the club.
“However, he has gone about his work this season with commendable energy, passion, skill and sound judgement that has not only delivered results on the pitch, but has also won the hearts and minds of players, backroom staff, club officials and supporters alike.
“Securing Pete’s services for at least another two full seasons means that we can build on the momentum already generated this season, as well as starting to plan in earnest for next season and beyond.”
