Banks bids farewell to Bears

Solihull Editorial 25th Sep, 2020   0

BATSMAN Liam Banks is to leave Warwickshire County Cricket Club following the end of his current contract.

The 21-year-old went professional with the club in 2016 after initially joining the Warwickshire Academy as a 13-year-old, a result of Warwickshire’s close relationship with Staffordshire Cricket Club.

During his time in Edgbaston, Banks went on to make 10 First Class, eight List A and six T20 appearances for the Bears.

“It’s always disappointing when we have to let a former Academy graduate go,” said Warwickshire Sport Director Paul Farbrace.

“Liam has given a huge amount to the Club during his time as a Bear and worked very hard to make the step into the professional arena. He leaves with good wishes of everyone at Warwickshire CCC and we wish him the very best in the next stage of his career.”
