Year of growth sees Solihull tech firm Wise boost recruitment

Solihull Editorial 30th May, 2021   0

SOLIHULL tech firm Wise is celebrating a double success following a record year of growth and the launch of a revolutionary new app to help self-employed people across the UK.

Wise, which specialises in software for the self-employed and logistics sector, has one office in London and its tech base in Solihull and has seen its workforce grow from two to 25 full-time employees in the last 12 months.

Seven of those staff have come via School of Code, a free Midlands-based digital boot camp which offers people coding, web-design and other digital skills.

The Solihull side of the business is led by a duo of locals Dan Richards and James Orton.

Dan, the chief commercial officer at Wise, said: “Both James and I are passionate about technology, and to be growing the business in the region we were born and raised in makes it even sweeter.

“Going from two to 25 in 12 months has exceeded even our expectations, and we expect this to double again in the coming year and a half.”

The Wise platform helps logistics firms engage with their self-employed workforce, simplifying and streamlining everything from the recruitment through to protecting their tax compliance and managing payroll.

Wise also provides a solution for self-employed workers to simplify their work processes, helping them stay tax compliant and maximise their take-home pay from work.
