LOVE was in the air as residents at a Yardley nursing and care home were treated to a Valentine’s Day party.
Residents at Heartlands Care and Nursing Home enjoyed music and dancing on Monday.
They were also given a hand-knitted heart, created by the home’s administrator Karen, to hang on their bedroom door.
Residents also created some Valentine-themed artwork to decorate their home during their weekly craft session before having afternoon tea.
The cake served was chosen by residents and the debate in choosing it turned into a trip down memory lane.
Daniela Mackenzie, home manager, said: “We discovered everyone loves to talk about cake.
“We spent time asking each of our residents about their favourite cakes, it was a great way to get to know people who have recently come to live with us.
“We had fun chatting about our childhood memories of baking and deciding which cakes we’d like to have at our party.”
