Wythall man charged over Solihull carjackings

A WYTHALL man has been charged in connection with a series of suspected carjackings across Solihull.

Damien Scarlett has been charged with robbery, attempted robbery, two counts of possession of firearm and several driving offences.

A firearm was also recovered by officers as part of the investigation.

The 34-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next month.

A total of three suspected carjackings took place in Hall Green, Chadwick End and Earlswood in the space of a few days.

West Midlands Police said: “The vehicles have been taken following threats made with a weapon.




“We also arrested a man, aged 39 and a woman, aged 40 in connection with the incidents.

“They have since been released on bail while our enquiries continues.”
