HUNDREDS of workers from the Ring and Ride service are set to get a 12.8 per cent pay rise.
Unite, the union, has secured the pay rise for around 500 National Express Ring and Ride workers across the West Midlands.
The bus service provides door-to-door minibus services for elderly and disabled people and school children with special educational needs across the West Midlands.
They are based in depots in Birmingham and Coventry but cover areas including Solihull.
The one-year pay deal will be backdated from 1 January 2024 and was secured without the need for industrial action.
Unite regional officer Sulinder Singh said: “This deal would not have been achieved without the hard work of Unite’s reps at National Express Ring and Ride. It pays to be in Unite.”
