RUGBY stars will descend on Shirley this weekend to raise funds for a local rugby club.

The Old Yardleians RFU are hosting their first ever Summer Fayre from 12pm till 3pm on Saturday (July 11) with all proceeds going towards funding new equipment and improvements for the junior boys and girls rugby club.

Players from Worcester Warriors will be on hand to show off their League trophy and pose for photos with attendees ahead of their return to Premiership rugby.

And, with the run up to the Rugby World Cup later this year well underway, England Rugby will also be on hand to hand out goodies and build support and excitement for the national team.

The Mayor of Solihull, Coun Glenis Slater, will formally open the Fayre at the Old Yardleians football club on Tilehouse Lane, Shirley, at noon.
