A WOMAN died after her car crashed into a tree in Wythall on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at on Hill Lane towards Chapel Lane, where a Fiat 500 had come off the road and driven into a tree.
A passer-by discovered the tragedy and stopped to help.
Two ambulances, a BASICS doctor, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor on board attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival, ambulance staff found a member of the public performing CPR on the woman.
“Staff and medics took over resuscitation efforts and commenced advanced life support at the roadside.
“Despite the best efforts of the passer-by and ambulance staff it was not possible to save the woman and the driver of the car – a woman in her 40s – was confirmed dead at the scene.”
West Mercia police officers also attended the scene and are keen to speak with anyone who saw the incident or who can help with the investigation.
