We Can welcomes first child ambassador

Solihull Editorial 23rd Sep, 2024   0

A KNOWLE girl has joined the ranks to help turn empty drink cans into foodbank donations in Solihull.

Molly has become the first Child Ambassador at We Can Community CIC which aims to help those struggling with the cost of living.

The nine-year-old’s role will be to help extend the reach of the We Can brand and raise awareness about the growing issue of poverty.

Welcoming Molly to her role We Can said: “Her passion for helping others and her desire to make a positive difference in the world is truly inspiring.

“Despite her young age, Molly has already shown a deep understanding of the challenges faced by many families today, and her involvement will undoubtedly bring a fresh perspective to our efforts.

“Her dedication is a powerful reminder that even the youngest among us can make a significant impact. By embracing this role, Molly is not only helping us reach a broader audience but is also setting an example for her peers and the next generation.

“At We Can, our goal has always been to create a charity that empowers young people to build a better, more positive future. Molly’s involvement is a testament to this vision, and we are incredibly grateful for her invaluable contribution.”

Ryan Hulance was inspired to set up his philanthropic business, We Can, after seeing his parents hand over a bag of food to a family who were struggling to buy provisions.

In 2022 the 12-year-old found a recycling centre that buys empty cans and then he uses that money to buy items including baby formula with and donates them to the foodbank.

Over the year Ryan, along with help from Solihull businesses and residents has raised enough funds to fill a truck-load of food to be handed out at Christmas and now has his sights set on a can baler.
