CANDLES are set to be lit in memory of babies at a special services across Solihull.
Claire Stait is inviting bereaved parents, children, family and friends to a wave of light service at St James The Great Church on Sunday (October 12) at 3pm.
Baby loss and stillborn charities will be holding a Wave of Light Service for all those who have lost a child to mark baby loss awareness week, which runs from October 9 to 15.
Candles will be lit, poems and prayers will be shared and baby names will be written down in a way to commemorate their lives at the Church Road service.
Claire said: “All are welcome and there will be time to reflect and talk over refreshments afterwards if people should like.
“We look forward to seeing as many people as possible there.”
The Lily Mae Foundation will be welcoming families to St Mary’s Church in Temple Balsall for its Wave of Light Service on October 15.
From 6.45pm the Fen End Road church will be filled with those who have suffered baby loss.
During the service there will be a chance for families to tie a pink or blue ribbon to the tree of remembrance.
In Dorridge the TeddyRose Foundation will be lighting up St Phillips Church.
On October 15 the Manor Road church will be lit up pink and blue for Baby Loss Awareness Week.
From 6.30pm there will be a remembrance service, with an opportunity for families to add their baby’s name to the remembrance tree.
Candles will be lit at 7pm.
Parking and refreshments will be available.
