Wave of Light service to remember babies in Shirley

Solihull Editorial 8th Oct, 2024   0

CANDLES are set to be lit in memory of babies at a special service in Shirley this weekend.

Claire Stait is inviting bereaved parents, children, family and friends to a wave of light service at St James The Great Church on Sunday (October 13) at 3pm.

Baby loss and stillborn charities will be holding a Wave of Light Service for all those who have lost a child to mark baby loss awareness week, which runs from October 9 to 15.

Candles will be lit, poems and prayers will be shared and baby names will be written down in a way to commemorate their lives at the Church Road service.

Claire said: “This will be a way for the community to get together to support each other and remember babies that have been lost as well as to acknowledge baby loss awareness week.

“All are welcome and there will be time to reflect and talk over refreshments afterwards if people should like. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible there.”
