Warning to motorists after 17 cars stolen

Solihull Editorial 8th Feb, 2023   0

MOTORISTS are being urged to stay with their vehicles while they defrost.

This comes after West Midlands Police said 17 cars have been stolen from driveways this week.

They said that thieves are on the hunt for vehicles which are left with keys in the ignition during frosty mornings.

It comes as temperatures were below freezing overnight with a yellow warning for fog covering Solihull on Wednesday, February 8.

Solihull Police said: “Don’t make your car cosy for criminals.

“Every winter, cars are stolen from driveways.

“Thieves are looking for unattended vehicles with keys in the ignition.

“Stay with your vehicle whilst your windscreen defrosts.”
