A SHIRLEY Sea Cadet is searching for the rightful owner of a lost war veteran badge.

Leading Cadet Rose found the badge around Park Gate Shopping Centre in the aftermath of the Remembrance Day Parade in Shirley.

The badge, which the cadet did not want pictured in the Observer to prevent false owners coming forward, is an enamel Gulf War Veteran badge and is roughly 25mm high by 20mm wide.

Simon Marland, chair of Shirley Sea Cadets, said it was important the badge was reunited with its rightful owner.

He added: “We did not want to include a picture of it in the paper to prevent the wrong person claiming it.

“This way if someone believes it is theirs they can ring us up, describe it to us, and we can reunite them with it.”

Anyone who believes the lost badge is theirs is urged to contact Shirley Sea Cadets by emailing [email protected] or by calling 07971 607599.
