NIMBLE-FINGERED volunteers are being called on to help create a poppy cascade for a Shirley church ahead of remembrance.
Parishioners at St. James the Great have hand-made 5,000 poppies which will go on display on the church tower for Remembrance Sunday.
Now the the Church Road church is calling on residents to help attach the flowers to netting ready for the opening on November 1.
From October 7 the Church House will be setting up a work station for two weeks where volunteers will attach the poppies on the netting ready to hang on the Tower.
For more or to volunteers contact Emily at the Parish Office on 0121 745 8896 between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
