Villa fan hopes song will bring success for FA Cup final

ASTON Villa will be hoping to turn back the clock in this weekend’s FA Cup Final, bringing home the trophy for the first time since 1987.

Fans across the region will be heading down to Wembley, down to the pub or glued to their televisions as the Villa take on Arsenal for the cup on Saturday (May 30).

And they will be hoping the involvement of a Withe will bring them success.

Villa legend Peter Withe scored the winner for the club in the 1982 European Cup 1-0 victory over Bayern Munich.

And it is his son Steve – and his band Paradise Forum – who will be hoping to help inspire the Villa to glory with the official Cup Final song – Villa You’re the One – which will be played ahead of kick-off at Wembley on Saturday.

The song, penned by well-known local singer songwriter Tony Fellini (real name Tony Polidori) won an online vote to be the official Villa cup anthem and is fast becoming a favourite with fans on the terraces.

Here’s hoping the song, a successful battle against relegation, a new attacking style of play and the lure of the FA Cup will bring home the trophy.
