A RAFFLE marking the 75th anniversary of VE Day has raised £2185 for Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid.
Solihull resident Verity Eden created a raffle to help raise much needed funds to support the work of Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid.
Domestic abuse support charities have seen a surge in cases during the period of lockdown, and phone lines have had a huge influx of calls.
Verity was adamant to find a way to support them, she said: “I would like to thank everyone for all of their support and generous donations. Also this would not of been possible without the wonderful companies who donated all the amazing prizes. I am totally overwhelmed by what we have achieved, I can’t believe it! We have raised an amazing £2,180 for Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid. Which will help women and children escaping from abusive relationships.”
Verity is now working on a future idea to help support the charity.
The raffle was drawn on VE Day however should anyone wish to donate can do so via justgiving.com/fundraising/withamcroftx.
