Ukrainian mezzo-sopranojoins Solihull Symphony Orchestra for concert

A UKRAINIAN mezzo-soprano will be joining Solihull Symphony Orchestra on stage during its Spring Concert.

Anna Starushkevych will be joining the musicians for Gustav Mahler’s Songs of a Journeyman and he will also be singing in Manuel de Falla’s riotous ballet, The Three-Cornered Hat on April 29.

The concert at Shirley Methodist Church will be conducted by the orchestra’s music director Jon Malaxetxebarria will begin at 3.30pm.

Anna was born in Lviv and moved to London to continue her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

She has won the International London Handel Competition and the York Early Music Prize.

Anna’s repertoire includes Angelina in Rossini’s La Cenerentola, Sesto in Handel’s Giulio Cesare and Ottavia in Il Coronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi.
