Two young Solihull photography talents belatedly collect their prizes after Covid delay

DELAYS because of the Covid pandemic have meant the two top winners of Solihull Young Photographer Competition 2019-2020 have only just received their belated prizes – £100 each.

Solihull School pupil Anna Ladbrooke and Alfie Herriott, of Alderbrook School, were last week invited to a socially distanced presentation outside the entrance to Touchwood.

For the fifth consecutive year the Rotary Club of St Alphege Solihull has organised this event between the students of the schools and colleges of Solihull to highlight students’ skills and imagination.

Each year the Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull has sponsored the £100 first prizes in the two age categories, plus £25 Touchwood vouchers for ‘highly commended’ entrants.

This year judging took place prior to the virus lockdown and the award – and the talented winners have waited patiently for an opportunity to be presented with their awards.
