Two community support policemen sprayed with fire extinguishers by moped gang

TWO community support policemen were injured after being sprayed with a fire extinguisher in Solihull.

The incident took place on Chester Road in Castle Bromwich on Monday (August 20).

Police were investigating a disturbance at a Morrisons petrol station when the police community support officers (PCSOs) were sprayed while sat in a car.

Solihull Police said: “We are investigating after two PCSOs were sprayed with a fire extinguisher in Chester Road in Castle Bromwich on Monday.




“Officers were called to a disturbance in a Morrisons petrol station involving two people on a scooter, where a fire extinguisher was taken from the premises.

“As two PCSOs sat in traffic on the road, the fire extinguisher was sprayed on them through an open window by the people on the scooter.


“There have been no arrests and the officers, who went to hospital for medical attention, have since been discharged.

“Anyone with information is urged to call the Solihull investigation team on 101 ext 891 3027, quoting crime reference 20SH/190172F/18.

“Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
