TRIBUTE has been paid to a father who died after being hit by a 4×4.
Simon Worthington was killed while he was cycling along the B4452 Ufton Road, near Harbury outside Leamington around 10.15am last Saturday (February 21).
Emergency services were called to the scene following the crash, which involved a Range Rover Evoque, but were unable to save Mr Worthington.
Originally from Solihull, the 33-year-old data analyst worked for Barclays Bank and had been living in Leamington with his wife Emma and a young son.
In a statement, his family said: “Simon was a loving husband, father and friend. He was a keen sportsman and was training for a half iron man triathlon later this year when the collision happened.
“He leaves behind his wife Emma and a young son. Emma is expecting their second child later this summer. There are no words to describe how much he will be missed.”
The family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
A 24-year-old man from Leamington was arrested following the crash but has since been released on bail until early April while investigations continue.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who saw Mr Worthington and the vehicle prior to the incident.
