FLORAL tributes adorn the roadside where three-year-old Maysoon Adbul-Hakeem died in Yardley.
Little Maysoon was on a zebra crossing in Reddings Lane on Thursday afternoon, November 11, when she was hit by a car.
The driver left the scene but a 24-year-old man later handed himself in to police.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was released under investigation.
Maysoon’s family are being supported by specialist police family liaison officers.
The family said: “We are devastated at the loss of our beautiful daughter Maysoon.
“Please respect our privacy at this very difficult time.”
At the roadside one message read: “RIP sweetheart you will be the brightest rainbow in the sky.”
Ali Hussain, who lives near the accident site, has set up a fundraising page for Maysoon’s parents.
In five days the site, which set out to raise £1,000, has raised more than £3,700.
Writing on the page he said: “Being a father I can understand what the family is going through, So many difficulties at the moment, and I would like to start a fundraising campaign to support the family who have just lost their young child.”
