DRIVERS are being warned to take care today as many roads across Solihull are flooded, some impassable.

Driving through floodwaters can lead to vehicles and motorists becoming stranded and severe damage to cars and vans.

It is difficult to ascertain how deep floodwater is lying on the roads before entering.

Henwood Lane in Catherine De Barnes, Rumbush Lane in Earlswood, Peterbrook Road in Shirley and Tythe Barn Lane in Dickens Heath and Houndsfield Lane in Wythall, are all closed due to flooding.

Peterbrook Road is closed due to flooding.

The Met Office forecasts rain easing from 1pm in Worcestershire and it is predicted to stay mainly dry up until around 8pm when light rain will soon turn heavy and continue until the early hours.
