Trail of destruction left by latest gypsies

GYPSIES have left a trail of destruction in Shirley.

The nine or so caravans set up camp at the Cranmore Industrial Estate over the weekend on land owned by BNP Paribas Real Estate – leaving workers unable to park their cars.

It is believed the travellers forced open the gate to gain access to the industrial site.

And when they left the Radway Road site on Tuesday (February 24) it was discovered they had broken in to and ‘completely trashed’ the nearby office huts and left piles of rubbish.

One local resident, who did not want to be named, told The Observer they have had enough of gypsies setting up camp in the borough leaving a trail of mess and destruction in their wake when they depart.

They added: “It’s disgusting how groups just descend on a community and leave people without a place to park, play or have fun.

“They destroy a part of the community which we have all worked hard to build together when they arrive and we’re left to pick up the pieces when they leave.”
