TRAIL-BLAZING women were celebrated at a Shirley care home.
To mark International Women’s Day (IWD) on Sunday (March 8) the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Annette Mackenzie visited Fountains along side many ladies from different networking groups from all round Solihull and Shirley that help individuals daily.
Terri Home sales adviser at Fountains said: “We’ve all had a fantastic morning listening to the many brilliant women who have had such an impact in the local community and helped so many in one way or another, whether that was a stranger or people in our own family.
“It was good to share our experiences, take stock and reflect on how much society and care has changed over the years.”
IWD takes place on March 8 every year to celebrate women’s rights and inspire people to fight for gender equality.
A United Nations-sanctioned global holiday, IWD celebrates women’s contributions to society, raises awareness about the fight for gender parity and inspires support for organisations that support women globally.
