VISITORS to Touchwood Shopping Centre basked in the summer sunshine and soaked up the carnival atmosphere at the borough’s popular ‘Costa Del Solihull’ beach event returned.

As part of the Solihull Jazz and Blues Festival, the centre hosted three nights of fun-filled live jazz music evenings in Theatre Square.

The Bobby Woods Quartet kick-started the festival before a second performance by Masai Blues where music lovers enjoyed the rhythm and blues with free food from the barbecue.

Popular jazz vocalist Sheila Waterfield also serenaded audiences at Popular Arcade – bringing a multitude of styles to the stage from smooth jazz to sophisticated ballads and slick big band arrangements.

And those that left wanting more will be pleased to hear Theatre Square will play host to six-piece jazz and contemporary band Little Jo and The MisFits – along with a free barbecue for all to enjoy, starting at 6pm.

Lucy Bennett, marketing manager at Touchwood, said: “The Jazz and Blues Festival was a wonderful way to celebrate arts in Solihull, and we’re so happy to have hosted some of the events at our Costa Del Solihull beach.

“Guests were having a great time at the beach and enjoying a mini holiday, it was so fun to see everybody dancing and enjoying the music.”
