Solihull MP Julian Knight has been returned to office after a great night at the polls – as has Tory Stalwart Caroline Spelman, now in her 20th year as Meriden MP.
Both Tories increased their votes from the 2015 General Election.
Mr Knight received 32,975 votes – up eight per cent from 2015 and way ahead of nearest rival Nigel Knowles of Labour who polled 12,414 votes.
Mrs Spelman secured 33,873 votes, compared to Labour’s Tom McNeil who polled 14,675.
More reaction to follow throughout the day.
