Tidbury Green pupils to design new strip for Earlswood Town

EARLSWOOD Town Football Club are turning to the pupils of Tidbury Green School for inspiration for their home kit next season.

The Midland Football League Division Two club have joined forces with primary school to help create a new-look strip for the 2022/23 campaign.

The art competition is open to all pupils who are being encouraged to be as creative as possible while still sticking to the 54-year-old club’s traditional colours of red and white.

Working with kit suppliers Moving Forward Sports to produce the kit, teachers and club officials will eventually whittle entries down to one winning design which The Earls will proudly take to the pitch come next season.

As well as having the playground bragging rights over their fellow budding kit designers, it is also hoped that the eventual winner will be able to lead the team out for their opening home fixture at The Pavilions in Malt House Lane.

“Raising awareness of our football club within the local community is a top priority and this is a fun and creative way to engage with the next generation,” said Earlswood Town chairman Andy Walker.

“Witnessing a primary school art competition come to life via our players next season will be exciting for all involved and I’d like to thank Tidbury Green School for allowing us to launch this initiative.”

Rosalind Fitter, headteacher at the school, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted and privileged to have been asked by Earlswood Town to design a new look kit for the 2022/23 season.

“The pupils have enthusiastically put their creative talents forward to come up with striking and memorable designs to share with both club officials and the judges.

“We know they will have a difficult job choosing the winning masterpiece from the stunning designs created by our talented young artists.

“Thank you Andy Walker for inspiring our pupils with this unique opportunity to be real designers.”
