Three more arrested as part of murder investigation into Connor Smith death

THREE more people have been arrested as part of a murder investigation looking into the death of  Hawkesley teenager Connor Smith.

The trio were arrested at a home in Chelmsley Wood about 5am this morning (Tuesday) and are currently in custody.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and two women, one aged 26 and the other 22, on suspicion of assisting an offender. They will all be questioned by detectives later today.

The three men who were arrested yesterday morning (Monday) also remain in custody.




Connor, aged 19, died as a result of a gunshot wound to the abdomen following an attack on Forde Way Gardens, in Hawkesley, on Thursday night (October 8).

Det Insp Warren Hines, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our investigation is progressing and we now have six people in custody in connection with Connor’s death.


“We continue to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with knowledge about what happened to come forward in confidence and talk to us as soon as possible.”
