THREE people were arrested on suspicion of murder after a fatal stabbing in Castle Bromwich.

Two men were attacked at a house in Cadbury Drive, both sustaining stab wounds. One of the men, despite the best efforts of paramedics, died at the scene while the other was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The attackers fled in a car which was picked up and tracked by the police helicopter to Chatham Road in Northfield.

There, armed police stopped the vehicle and two men and a woman, were held on suspicion of murder.

Officers say the investigation is still in the early stages but initial indications suggested it was a targeted attack.

Police have already sealed off the scene for forensic examination and started house-to-house enquiries and to trawl through CCTV footage.
