Thousands go for walkies at Crufts 2026

DOGS OF all shapes and sizes decended upon the NEC for Crufts 2026.

As the pampered pooches made their wa to the annual competition they showed off their skills and checked out the competition.

Hundreds of athletic dogs competed in fast-paced agility and flyball finals, and clever canines showed off their skills in various demonstrations, from police dogs and Medical Detections Dogs, to the most obedient pets.

There were over 200 breeds vying for the Crufts Best in Show title – which was given to Clumber spaniel, Bruin, on Sunday (March 8).

Away from the competitions there were a number of dogs, and their owners could go for walkies around the halls to see all the treats and on offer and find out more about charities, including Elmdon’s Daybreaks Greyhound Trust.

There was also a Discover Dogs zone, where visitors could meet and greet hundreds of different breeds – from the popular to the unusual – speak to experts about what they are like to live with and care for, and find out which four-legged friend might be best suited to their lifestyle.

Observer photographer, Marcus Mingins, went also to capture a slice of the action.
