The show will go on! Solihull Summer Fest re-scheduled to September

Solihull Editorial 22nd Jun, 2021   0

THE much anticipated Solihull Summer Fest has been rescheduled to this September 11-12.

The move comes in the wake of the Prime Minister’s decision last week to delay the relaxation of Covid restrictions for a further four weeks – now expected to be July 19.

In a statement the organisers said: “The new freedom date means in principal Solihull Summer Fest can still operate on July 24-25.

“However, should there be any changes or restrictions added, it would leave us very little time to react.

“We would be also starting our festival site build before July 19 leaving us very financially exposed as a local independent festival operator.

“Therefore, we have made a tough decision this week to reschedule Solihull Summer Fest to September 11-12, 2021.

“All tickets will automatically transfer to the new date, however you can request, should you wish, to transfer to July 2022 dates or request a refund.

“Once again we ask that you support our festival by keeping hold of your ticket. (Full details will be emailed on Monday 28th June from The Ticket Sellers).

“We are finalising our line up and are pleased to announce that so far we can confirm Marti Pellow, ABC, Tony Hadley, Nik Kershaw and The Blow Monkeys will still be appearing.

“Offers have also been submitted for our new headliners, of which we are confident we will secure and announce later this week.”

Organisers said that artists such as Kool & The Gang, Billy Ocean, Belinda Carlisle and SNAP!, whilst they cannot make the September dates, have been secured for the 2022 line up.

They added: “So on a positive note, Solihull Summer Fest is still happening this year – – just later than we had all hoped!”
