ALL THE fun of the seaside is coming to land-locked Henley this summer.
More than 40 tonnes of sand is being shipped into the town to create a beach, complete with paddling pools, from August 20.
The facility will give residents the chance to enjoy a beach atmosphere on their own doorstep – a welcome move in light of the cost-of living crisis and financial difficulties which may prevent people taking a holiday this year.
The Beach is being set up at the Hub at Henley, a youth and community centre, and will be completely free.
It will be staffed by a team of qualified youth workers and volunteers, and will run until September 1.
