CHARLES Hanson, star of BBC Bargain Hunt, Flog It and Antiques Road Trip is hosting a free monthly antiques valuation day at Knowle Royal British Legion – beginning on Tuesday, June 2.

The event – organised by Hansons Auctioneers and Valuers –  will provide clients with an accessible and information valuation service.

Hansons Associate Director and Senior Valuer Adrian Rathbone, who will be overseeing the events, said: “‘There is much more awareness these days of the value of our possessions and with the strength and growth in the antiques and collectables markets it is important for us to provide a professional, but friendly and easily accessible service.

“The events in Knowle are designed to educate clients as to the current auction market value of their items, and we are happy to look at items of any kind, including silver, jewellery, watches, pottery, glass, pictures, toys, oriental art, medals and much more.

“Our network of leading consultants, such as TVs jewellery expert Kate Bliss and the Antiques Roadshow’s Oriental expert Lars Tharp, can also be called upon for advice to clients wishing to ascertain the true market value of their goods should they wish to sell at auction with a worldwide audience.

“I am excited to add Knowle to our portfolio of events and look forward to meeting new and existing clients in the region.

“Who knows what treasures may be unearthed – I recall at recent session a painting came in that was deemed worthless by the client, and which went on to be sold for £7,200.”

The event will run from 1pm until 4pm and donations for the RBL will be warmly received.
