TWO TEENAGERS have been arrested after driving dangerously off road and across parkland in Castle Bromwich.

West Midlands Police said officers on patrol on Friday, March 18, spotted a black Ford Focus which had been stolen the night before in Birmingham.

The driver failed to stop and eventually jumped out of the car on Chester Road, Castle Bromwich, causing it to roll into a parked car.

Following a short foot chase, he was detained nearby and arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving dangerously and failing to stop.

After being searched he was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

The national police air service led officers to where the passenger was hiding and he was also arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

Two boys both aged 15, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Detective Sergeant Matt Dryer from force CID, said: “We know the impact of vehicle crime on our communities and we’re working hard as a force to crack down on this and arrest offenders.”
