Teenager arrested over Chelmsley Wood park attack

A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a teenager in a Chelmsley Wood park.

A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested earlier on suspicion of wounding.

West Midlands Police said it was called to Meriden Park at around 5.40pm after reports of a group of youths fighting on Sunday (August 31).

A 14-year-old boy was found with stab injuries and taken to hospital.

He remains in hospital and his injuries are not life-threatening.

Inspector Mark Heard, from Solihull Police, said: “We are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area to come forward with any information they may have.




“We know that there was a lot of people around at the time, and so, if they saw anything that might help our investigation, please can they get in touch with us.

“Our officers remain in the area carrying out reassurance patrols. If you have any concerns, please do speak to them.”
